Synchro9: first international competitions are just weeks away!

The new season marks the start of international competition for Synchro9. From November 7, 2026, teams will have the opportunity to compete in the new format at the first scheduled international event in the United States. The International Skating Union (ISU) has announced four international competitions ahead of the inaugural Synchro9 World Championships in March 2027.

The first event is scheduled for November 7–8, 2026, in Irvine, California. It will open the series of international competitions announced by the ISU for the 2026/27 season. The event is also listed on the U.S. Figure Skating competition calendar.

Three weeks later, attention will turn to Finland. On November 28–29, Vantaa is scheduled to host the Synchro9 Finlandia Cup 2026. The Finnish federation confirms that this international competition will take place at Tikkurila Sports Park.
Following a break in December, two more European events are scheduled. Rouen, France, is listed for January 29–30, 2027, on the same dates as the French Cup. Budapest, Hungary, is then scheduled to host another competition on February 20–21, 2027.

These four events form part of the international launch of Synchro9, a format developed by the ISU featuring teams of nine skaters and a knockout competition structure.

The season will then continue in Nottingham, Great Britain. On March 27–28, 2027, the city will host the inaugural ISU Synchro9 World Championships for Junior and Senior teams as part of Nottingham27.
