The update was presented during the latest ISU Council meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland. While the international federation confirms that 16 of its members have formed Synchro9 teams, it has not yet specified which federations or countries are involved. The Council also reviewed technical preparations and the organization of the upcoming season.

On the sporting side, the judging system is still being finalized. The ISU also confirmed that education sessions for officials have already taken place to support the introduction of Synchro9.

Another development is on the way: a new Synchro9 brand is scheduled to be unveiled in November 2026. The ISU has not yet provided further details about the upcoming launch.
On the ice, the first events are approaching. The international season will begin on November 7–8 in Irvine, USA, followed by Vantaa, Finland, on November 28–29. Two further competitions are scheduled in Rouen, France, on January 29–30, 2027, and Budapest, Hungary, on February 20–21.

The season will then lead to the inaugural ISU Synchro9 World Championships for Junior and Senior teams, scheduled for March 27–28, 2027, in Nottingham, Great Britain.

The nine-skater format continues its development ahead of its inclusion in the Olympic Winter Games Alpes 2030.
